It’s unlikely that you’ve never seen a film starring Gary Sinise. His career has been so broad and varied that he’s played everything from cops to soldiers to villains in some franchises.
Gary is best known for his role in Forrest Gump, but his career has spanned decades and he has played dozens of distinct and significant roles.
You might think that Gary’s true passion is acting, with a career that has stood the test of time, but it appears that he has side projects that he is more passionate about than anything else. Although he works as an actor during the day, the talented working man volunteers for the betterment of society in his spare time.
Gary Sinise, known primarily for his acting roles, founded the Gary Sinise Foundation, which provides assistance to active military members, veterans, first responders, and their families.
Obviously, this is an admirable foundation in which to participate. But Gary stands out from the crowd because of his leadership role and the hard work he puts in to help others. He was surprised with a tribute in recognition of his efforts.
And when he saw the tribute created in his honor, he burst into tears. The 63-year-old has also paid visits to troops stationed overseas. He was able to form a stronger bond with veterans after playing Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump.
Lieutenant Dan was an injured soldier who helped him better understand the difficulties that those serving in the military face. Because of these connections, he holds this character in a special place near his heart.
As Sinise’s new memoir, “Grateful American,” is released, other celebrities decided that it would be the ideal time to send him a special message to thank him for the services provided by his foundation.
